About the Project
Each day, from January 1 to December 31, 2007, members of Finishing School negotiated an idea, created a corresponding illustration, and posted it to the blog. The purpose of the project was to challenge each other with regular interaction and become more critically conscious of the group practice by considering on a daily basis what they actually think and do. The ideas presented in the project came from all facets of life, including: obscure lyrics, tv show titles, critical theory readings, graffiti, quotations, speeches, lectures, overheard conversations, advertising, and instruction manuals.
wwfsd? has been included in numerous exhibitions including, the 2007 Web Biennial, organized by the Istanbul Contemporary Art Museum and as a solo exhibition at Polvo, an exhibition space in Chicago. The project has also been included in the Rhizome Artbase, an online archive of new media art. The entire blog archive can viewed online at www.wwfsd.blogspot.com.
A book version (edition of 100) of the project was published in the spring of 2008 by Fringe-Los Angeles. Contact us at contact_fs [at] yahoo [dot] com if you would like a copy.
